Lincoln's Falling Mood
Over the course of his presidency, the sentiment of Lincoln's writings fell at a noticeable rate.
The Brevity of a President
Beginning analysis on the Abraham Lincoln's collected writing revealed this interesting trend. In 1860, the year he was first nominated President, the amount of documents he wrote went up dramatically while the length of documents dropped precipitously.
This plot shows the strong effect that passenger class and age had on a Titanic passenger's likelihood of survival. It was created during the EDA phase of a project on passenger survival rates. The data for this project came from a Kaggle contest.
This plot shows over 25,000 of Kobe Bryant's career shots. Makes are marked by red points, and misses are marked by blue points. For more information about the project from which this came, visit my GitHub.
Top Wide Receivers by CATCHERR
This visualization shows what CATCHERR, a metric my team created to evaluate NFL receivers, thinks of the 2015 performances of the league's top pass-catchers. More information about this project is on GitHub.
Mosquito Traps and Spraying Efforts in Chicago
This graph shows the locations of mosquito traps (marked by X's) in Chicago and locations that the city sprayed pesticides to control the mosquito population. The colors are associated with different spray zones. We utilized some unsupervised machine learning techniques to identify these spray zones. A description of this process as well as a write-up of findings, can be found here.
These stacked histograms compare the age distributions of people who died in the wreck of the Titanic (orange) and people who survived (blue). I found the spike of survivors on the left tail especially interesting.
Top Wide Receiver Seasons 1999-2015
According to CATCHERR, these are the top seasons wide receivers have had in the past 17 years.
Women and Children First
This plot shows the stark divide in survival rates between women and men. The density of the points also gives a sense of how many more men than women were aboard the Titanic.
Titanic Decision Tree
This visualization shows how a Decision Tree model split passengers on the Titanic into groups, trying to decide who was likely to survive, and who was likely to die.
Titanic ROC/AUC Curves
This visualization shows a way of judging the accuracy of different classification models. Each line represents a ROC/AUC curve associated with a different model trying to predict survival rates aboard the Titanic.
